This €200 million facility at the GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park SEZ stands as the world’s largest of its kind. Once fully operational, it will be able to service up to 300 LEAP engines every year, making it a global hub for advanced aerospace maintenance. Beyond its technical scale, the project is set to generate about 1,100 highly skilled jobs, while its state-of-the-art test bench will bring cutting-edge capabilities to civil aircraft engine servicing.
During the event, Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone for Safran’s new M88 military engine MRO facility, which will service the engines that power Rafale fighter jets. He also urged the company to broaden its “Design in India” efforts by tapping into the country’s skilled workforce and the vast network of MSMEs, highlighting India’s growing strength as a hub for aerospace innovation.
