No need for fights’—Gautam Gambhir pulled up after tense press‑room moment in Vizag

At Saturday’s press conference, Gautam Gambhir lashed out at Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal over a social media post aimed at him. In response, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra advised his old Delhi teammate to avoid making such fiery remarks in public.

After India suffered their second home Test series whitewash in a year—this time against South Africa in November—Parth Jindal took to social media, calling on the BCCI to explore split coaching and appoint a specialist for the red-ball format. His post on X (formerly Twitter) came in the aftermath of India’s crushing 408-run defeat to the Proteas in Guwahati.

The post didn’t go down well with Gambhir, who responded strongly in the press conference after India’s ODI triumph against South Africa. He criticized remarks that, in his view, had little to do with cricket, singling out an IPL owner’s call for split coaching. ‘People should stick to their own domain,’ Gambhir stressed, explaining that just as players don’t cross into others’ fields, outsiders shouldn’t intrude into theirs.
